El Batán Variety Field

Estate information

In the village of El Batán, part of the municipality of Guijo de Galisteo (Cáceres), lies the El Batán farm, a unique project within our Group. With 26 hectares of irrigated land and over 30,000 olive trees, the farm has been conceived as a space for varietal diversification and agronomic experimentation. Its irrigation system is supplied by the Algodón River Irrigators' Community, which belongs to the Tagus River Basin Authority.

El Batán hosts a wide range of hedgerow olive grove varieties, including Arbequina, Arbosana, Coriana, Coratina, Lecciana, Sikitita 2, and Sultana. This diversity allows for evaluating the performance of each variety under local conditions, generating valuable technical knowledge for the development of future projects.

Furthermore, the farm shares its location with the El Batán Oil Mill, a strategic infrastructure within the Iberolea Group's agro-industrial project, dedicated to olive processing and the production of our own extra virgin olive oil.
