  • The company strengthens its fully industrial strategy and focuses on agronomic production and the supply of high-stability bulk olive oil for the food industry.

Iberecológica, the agro-industrial company founded in 2018 and currently executing one of the largest investments in the olive oil sector (€120 million), today announces its corporate evolution. Under its new brand Iberolea, the company reinforces its identity as an independent operator specialised in the integrated management of the olive oil value chain, from agricultural production to industrial refining.

The rebranding coincides with the final stage of construction of its Agro-Industrial Complex in Paredes de Nava (Palencia, Spain) and reflects the company’s ambition to align its identity with its business model: becoming a strategic partner for food manufacturers, canning companies and olive oil bottlers by delivering scale, supply stability and sustainability.

Iberolea enters the market with a distinctive value proposition built on two structural pillars.

First, its facilities have been designed entirely from a clean-sheet approach. Free from legacy infrastructure, the company has implemented continuous-flow engineering processes and Industry 4.0 automation systems, enabling full traceability and a level of product consistency that traditional plants struggle to achieve.

Second, thanks to synergies with Ibereólica Renovables Group, the refinery operates under a 100% renewable self-consumption model, combining wind, photovoltaic and biomass energy sources.

The combination of these two factors — operational efficiency and proprietary renewable energy — provides a dual advantage for industrial customers:

  1. Cost Stability: By decoupling energy costs and leveraging economies of scale (100,000 tonnes per year), Iberolea can offer competitive and stable long-term pricing despite market volatility.
  2. Sustainability Leadership: Iberolea supplies the market’s first “Net-Zero Emissions” bulk refined olive oil, enabling its clients to automatically reduce their Scope 3 carbon footprint.

Gregorio Álvarez Cabreros, President and Founder of the company, explains the strategic vision behind the project: “Iberolea was created to become the most efficient industrial link in the value chain for our clients — effectively the engine room that allows consumer brands to compete more successfully on the shelf.”

The company enters the market with the goal of contributing to the global expansion of olive oil consumption, which today accounts for less than 3% of all edible fats used industrially worldwide.

“To grow in the global fats market we need scale, competitive pricing and certified sustainability. Iberolea provides the industrial capacity needed to work alongside cooperatives and industry partners to bring our olive oil to new markets,” adds Álvarez.
